Last week, We challenged you to get fit. This week, We have more exciting news to share.
Altru Health Foundation recently received its second largest gift ever. It will be used to create the Sanny and Jerry Ryan Center for Prevention and Genetics. The Center will bring Altru’s mission to life by encouraging healthy lifestyles for all ages.
What Will the Center Offer?
With access to key professionals, programming and state-of-the-art technology, the Center will prevent, manage and, in some cases, reduce the expression of inherited disease. By gathering individuals’ genetic information, the Center will assess risk factors and provide tailored resources designed to prevent disease and encourage healthier lifestyles.
The first of its kind in the region, the Center encourages individuals to think about their health through preventive measures before it comes medically necessary to seek care. This shift from treating illness to preventing disease creates a catalyst which can change the direction of a national epidemic. While you can’t change genetics, you can change the future.
